The Institution of Electrical and Electronic Engineers Pakistan (IEEEP) in collaboration with Sir Syed University of Engineering and Technology (SSUET) is pleased to announce 32nd IEEEP National Engineering Students Competition 2017(32nd IEEEP NESC '17)
NESC'17 is in continuation in series of IEEEP Student Seminar held each year by IEEEP Karachi Centre and provides a platform to showcase final year engineering projects to industry by presenting their work in form of technical paper. This Year IEEEP and SSUET are collaborating to hold 2-day Competition and parallel track of Final Year Engineering Students Competition and Hack Town for all year students.
This competition is an opportunity for the students from local universities to show their abilities, practical skill and talents under the guidance of senior professional engineers and faculty in front of academic-industries.
NESC includes Technical Papers based on students FYP work, in the ﬁelds of Electrical, Electronic, Bio-medical, Telecommunication, Computer Engineering/Sciences, Software/ICT and related Engineering domains.
Winners and runners up will be announced on the event date. Prizes and trophies will be given in IEEEP symposium held in March 2017, where participants will have to present their papers.

No Registration Fees
There is no registration fee for the presenter(s) of technical papers. All Authors of Paper must submit enclosed Undertaking duly signed from Head of Department of the concerned university certifying that the submitted paper is from student's final year project and student is currently enrolled in undergraduate engineering program

• Student Authors should be currently enrolled in any program/discipline at an HEC recognized university/institute in Pakistan
• Maximum four students are allowed (as authors) per paper/poster.
• Authors should submit papers/posters based on their original work, plagiarism is strictly prohibited.
• Any paper/poster found guilty of copying or plagiarism can be pulled out of the seminar.
• Selection of paper/poster for presentation would be done by a panel of Reviewers.
• A panel of judges would decide upon the best three papers. Decision made by judges would be final and cannot be challenged.
• Decisions of the panel of Judges & Reviewers will be final and cannot be challenged.
• For oral presentation audio/visual facilities would be provided. Extra resources (e.g., hardware/software for project demonstration) required by authors, would be responsibility of the author.
• In case, the author requires any specific software for presentation (other than MS office 2007 version) they should provide it to IEEEP Karachi Centre, at least 4 days before the seminar.
• Each presenter will be given 15 minutes to present his/her paper.
• In case of poster presentation, a display board would be provided. Poster size should be 4 ft by 3 ft.
• In case of poster presentation, authors are requested to reach the seminar venue two (02) hour in advance on the day of the seminar.
• Authors should bring their university/institute ID cards and Computerized National Identity Cards (CNIC) on the day of the seminar, if person fails to produce CNIC or University/Institute ID Cards he/she will not be allowed to enter the venue.

(i) The hack town is open for registration to individuals who are currently enrolled as student in under graduate engineering or computer science/architecture program in a university and who are not faculty at those universities or bound by the intellectual property policies of those universities. (ii) Walk in registration is not allowed. (For inquiry or request on registration fees submission please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org)
(iii) You will be provisionally confirmed after evaluation of your form. Registration will be confirmed once we receive your registration fees of Rs 1000/- .
(iv) You are not involved in any part of the creation, promotion, execution or administration of this Hack Town.
(v) You are not to present your solution/idea at registration time.
(vi) Individuals cannot submit multiple problem statements. (email at email@example.com for inquiry if any)
(vii) You cannot participate in other events in NESC if you are participating in Hack Town. Your participation will be cancelled from NESC (all events) in case of multiple registrations.
(viii) You have to provide your university enrollment card/id and CNIC at the reception on event day.
(ix) By participating in the NESC-Hack Town, you will be disclosing and demonstrating your entry to other entrants of the Hackathon and the Judging Panel. You must ensure that you are comfortable sharing any information and ideas in this way.
(x) Entrants are responsible for all costs associated with their attendance at the Hack Town including but not limited to transport and accommodation. (hack town organizers can facilitate you in accommodation if required)
(xi) You consent to your name, image, likeness, photograph, video, hometown, description of entry and biography being used by NESC on its websites, in promotional material, and in any publicity accompanying or resulting from the NESC including but not limited to any press articles, blogs or articles on social media pages;
(xii) You will work in multi disciplinary team formed during Hack Town . Switching team will be subjected to the organizer approval
(xiii) The proposed solutions will be participant’s original/enhanced work and will not infringe the intellectual property of proprietary rights of any third party (patents, copyrights or trademarks)
(xiv) Each participant must agree with the decision of judges
(xv) Any teams that violates the rule will be automatically disqualified
(xvi) NESC organizers reserves the right to amend the terms and conditions of the Hack Town prior to the events happening and any new terms and conditions shall be effective once uploaded to http://nesc.ssuet.edu.pk
(xvii) You agree that any and all information provided during the registration process is true, accurate, up to date and complete. Hack Town reserves the right to suspend or terminate your participation at any time.

NESC is dedicated to provide a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion or computing experience (or lack of any of the aforementioned). We will not tolerate harassment of NESC participants in any form. Abusive language and imagery is not appropriate at NESC venue, including hacks, talks, fun activities, social media and other online media. NESC participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the event at the discretion of the NESC organizers.
NESC staff will be happy to provide an environment where participants can feel safe for the duration of the event. We value your attendance. If a participant engages in harassing behavior, NESC organizers may take any action they deem appropriate. This includes warning the offender, expulsion from the NESC with no refund (if applicable), or reporting their behavior to local law enforcement.
